TOOLS TO MAKE YOUR INTERNATIONAL BUSINESSES MORE EFFICIENT

In most cases, foreigners with businesses or investments in the United States do not have an immigration status that allows them to obtain a social security number (SSN).

For these cases, it is essential to obtain a Personal Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN); a tax identification number issued by the Internal Revenue Service, which allows the managing of the tax affairs of a foreigner with business or investment in the United States.

To process the ITIN, the interested party must send their passport and their application by mail to the IRS offices to verify its integrity and validity.

An alternative to avoid taking the risk of sending your passport by mail is to certify its veracity and validity through a CAA (Certifying Acceptance Agent).
